Conor Venture Partners Adds Resources by Inviting Jari Mieskonen as New Managing Partner

Espoo, Finland – August 15, 2007 – Conor Venture Partners has invited Mr Jari Mieskonen to become its new Managing Partner as of August 1st. Mr Mieskonen has previously been working as a founding partner of Eqvitec Partners Oy, Finnish venture firm advising five venture funds. Before joining Eqvitec he held a director position at Sitra (the Finnish National Innovation Fund), where he was responsible for seed and early stage investments. At Sitra he also was a member of the board of directors of several Finnish early stage  funds.  Prior to Sitra he was working at FinnTech Oy to commercialise research findings at the HUT and VTT. He has been directly or indirectly involved in making more than 60 investments in Finland, Sweden and Denmark and been a driver for two mergers with north-American companies Smartner – Seven and Aplac-AWR.

The combined experience of the Conor team consists of several major funding events in cornerstone Finnish technology companies like; Digia, F-Secure, Iobox, MySQL, Smartner and Solid. ‘Aim to grow globally is better understood than before among technology companies in Nordic countries. We will support and give tools to that goal.’ says Managing Partner Mieskonen. ‘Activities to generate good exit opportunities is our prime interest. Passive exit market has been particularly challenging in Europe during the last couple of years. We will put special emphasize to that as part of our core activities’, he adds.
